Excellent game. As you probably know, it's basically a top-down version of Terraria or Minecraft, but in my opinion vastly superior to both. Minecraft has hideous visuals, while Core Keeper is beautiful to look at. Terraria has the infuriating issue of being CONSTANTLY bombarded by enemy attacks, always preventing you from doing what you are trying to do. So you have the freedom to build a house, craft items, farm animals and plants, and cook food without being constantly bothered (unless you set up your base in a spot with a lot of enemy spawn tiles, but you can remove those to "cleanse" it anyway as mentioned above).

TL;DR: Core keeper is a game with potential, but with very shallow progression systems that can make it feel repetitive very quickly.
Should you buy a Steam Deck instead of a PS5 Pro? How about instead of a new car you buy a boat?—these things are not the same
Boss fights range from fairly easy to pretty difficult. I haven't done all of them yet, but my impression is that all can be defeated solo. However, for some of them you may need to wait for specific items to drop, and their drop rate is very very low.
